Whether you use gloves or not in the winter, chapped hands can be a problem for many. This article will give you five tips on how to protect your hands from chapping during the winter. 1. Moisturize your hands silly. Lotions with Vitamin E in it is a good idea. You can puncture a Vitamin E capsule with a pin and rub it in your hands. 2. Use lukewarm water. By using hot water to kill germs, you are stripping moisture out of your pores. So wash and shower in lukewarm water. Consider washing your hands more than usual. 3. Exfoliate. It is a great hand protector to do often and get rid of dead dry skin. It exposes new skin to the air and sunlight. You can use a small handful of kosher salt and a few glugs of olive or grape seed oil. You can then exfoliate in one shot. 4. Cover up. Use gloves, even if you don't like them. They act as a barrier between hands and climate. They help retain moisture. To help, place some moisturizer on your hands before you glove up. 5. Avoid Air hand dryers. Use paper towels. If they don't have any, wring the water off your hands and then use your jacket, shirt, and sweater. Hot air will dry out your hands faster than you think. Preventive care is always the best way to approach taking care of chapped hands. sources; Holly Rossi, Beleifnet.com
