How to Clearly Define Your Restuarant or Bar's Image/Message

So you are opening a new bar or restaurant. Maybe you want to reinvent your current one. There are clear definitions that you must do to attract the business that you desire. Wondering why you only get Senior citizens when you want the new hot nightclub? You must have all signs clear for the public to understand what kind of operation you have.

Step 1: Details to include when thinking of your business: Is it named correctly? Juan’s would be a bad name for an Italian restaurant. What kind of signage do you have? If it doesn’t say it’s a restaurant or bar on the sign and the building doesn’t look like one from the outside, you will not get business.

Step 2: Once inside do plates and silverware all match? If it’s all mixed together it gives an unorganized poorly. Is it all plastic but you want to be upscale? Paper plates are fine but that means you can only charge a certain premium. China, should you choose to use it, should be clean and all match. Tablecloths need to be replaced often and are always clean and hole free.

Step3: Keep the floor plan easy to maneuver for staff, but also easy fro guests to enjoy. Space appropriately for the most amounts of guests, but don’t overcrowd the space.Menus should be clean and easy to read. Plants and décor should be evaluated yearly or so to see if they still fit your atmosphere. They should also be dusted regularly. Nobody likes looking at a fake plant with two years worth of dust on them. Also, fake plants usually look fake. Try to have fresh plants and flowers whenever possible, although costly, they do provide a nice atmosphere. Just some details to think about…Good luck!
