How to Save Money Buying Clothes

Clothes shopping can be expensive. Very expensive! But there are some steps you can follow that will help you save a bundle of money on clothing for yourself, your spouse, and your kids!

Step 1:  CHECK OUT THE THRIFT SHOPS -- If you are on a tight budget and you have kids to dress up always check out your local thrift shops first! There is no reason to buy new for kids because they grow out of their clothing too fast. And you don't need new either! But if you want new you should still hit the thrift shops because many people donate items with the tags still attached! But be careful. Sometimes their prices for things like t-shirts are higher than Walmart.

Step 2:  LOOK AT THE CLEARANCE RACKS -- When you go into a store do not buy any clothing unless it's on a clearance rack! Just pretend nothing else exists! If you know how to sew, you can buy items that are too large and take them in a bit. So check out the plus size clearance racks even if you are not a plus size!

Step 3:  SHOP AFTER THE SEASON -- The time to buy your swimsuit is when summer is over! The prices will be super low. Buy at the end of each season to get ready for the next year.

Step 4:  LOOK FOR DAMAGED CLOTHING -- A store will often give you a discount on an article of clothing if there is something wrong with it. Look for missing buttons or a hem that might be coming undone. Ask for a discount they go home and fix it!
