How to Save Money On Groceries
Would you like to save money on groceries? There are many ways to cut your grocery bill. And it does not require cutting tons of coupons for items you don't even need. You can save other ways too! Follow the steps below and start saving money on groceries! Step 1: SHOP MORE OFTEN -- It might not sound right... shop more often to save money? Yes! If you only shop once a week or every other week you will be forced to buy certain items when they are not on sale. You will also tend to buy stuff you don't need just in case you need it later. If you know you are returning to the store in a few days you might just leave it sitting on the shelf... and never buy it! Step 2: SET A BUDGET -- Set a budget and bring a calculator to the store with you. Try setting a small budget and make a game out of it... and get the kids involved! Try feeding your entire family for a week for $50 or go out and buy what you need for dinner but with only $10. It's fun and it can be done! Step 3: DON'T BUY FRESH -- Yes, fresh vegetable and fruits are good for you. but how many do you throw away? Buying canned or frozen allows you to stock up when items are on sale and there is no waste! If you really want fresh apples and oranges buy just a few and when they are gone go buy a few more! Step 4: LOOK AT THE UNIT PRICE -- Look at the unit price but don't necessarily buy in bulk to save a few pennies per pound or per quart. But if the unit price shows a good savings and you are sure you'll use the entire product then go ahead and buy big! Step 5: PLAN AHEAD -- Don't go to the store with no clue as to what you are going to buy. Look through flyers or just come up with a menu and write down what you need. Then stick to your list! Step 6: CLIP COUPONS -- Go ahead and clip coupons but only for items you normally buy! Saving $3.00 on a $5.00 item you didn't need is a waste of $2.00!
