How to Have a Light Show For Kids

I don't know any kid who does not think playing with a flashlight is fun! But here is a twist on the old flashlight play time. You can let your kids have a light show using flashlights and balloons! They will love this trick and it will keep them busy for hours! A flashlight and balloon light show is the perfect slumber party game. Let's start the show!

Step 1:  GET YOUR SUPPLIES -- You will need the following items for a flashlight and balloon light show: Flashlights (two or three flashlights per child is good), colorful balloons, rubber bands, and scissors.

Step 2:  MAKE YOUR COLORED FLASHLIGHTS -- Cut a balloon up the side then stretch the balloon over the front of a flashlight. Secure the balloon in place on the flashlight with a rubber band. Make as many colored flashlights as you want! You can use different size flashlights and you can play with how much you stretch the balloon. The thinner the balloon the lighter and brighter the beam of color will be.

Step 3:  HAVE A LIGHT SHOW -- Give the balloon covered flashlights to your kids and put them in a dark room that has lots of wall space. Let your kids turn on the flashlights and aim them at the wall! Have them cross their light beams to see how the colors change (blue and yellow make green, red and blue make purple, etc.). Your kids will have a blast with their new colored flashlights!
