People are all effected by stress in different ways. And people handle their stress in different ways. There is really no one particular way that works for everyone when relieving stress. What works for him may not work for her. There are a few ways that everyone can use to help you deal with stress or even eliminate the causes. Before you can begin on working on the stresses of the day, you need to figure out the triggers to your stresses and find ways to stop it at the trigger points. The process of eliminating stress will take time but with these few tips it will help lower your stress levels.

Step 1

Spend time with your pet
Spending time with your pet is a great way to relieve stress. You will feel better because of the love and affection your pet is giving you and you can talk to your pet and get things off of your chest without any criticism.

Step 2

Remember that you can't control other peoples behavior or actions
When you begin to get upset about what someone has done or is doing, you should ask yourself if you can control the situation. If you can't then you need to walk away from an unnecessary headache.

Step 3

Take a scenic route on the way to work and on the way home
If you have multiple routes to get to a destination, you should choose the route that has less busy streets and congestion. Choose the route that has more natural and refreshing scenery. This will allow you to have a less stressful trip.

Step 4

For 10 minutes a day sit quietly and focus on your breathing
When you catch yourself becoming overwhelmed about a situation or unable to handle a situation, stop what your doing , find a quiet are and take 10 minutes and just breathe in and out deeply. Only meditate on your breathing.

Step 5

Add about ten minutes to your scheduled task.
When you have something scheduled to attend, give yourself ten minutes extra. Get ready an extra ten minutes early as well as leaving ten minutes earlier. Then will hopefully prevent you from becoming stressed.

Step 6

Take a minute to drink a large glass of ice water
When you are feeling stressed take a minute to drink a tall glass of ice water. This always works. It cools you down internally and helps prevent your blood pressure from becoming high.

Great tips. I spend time with my kitty Samantha. She is just too sweet and helps me deal with the stress. Hot baths help, too.
