How to Build a Virtual House

Have you ever wanted to build a virtual house?  Well, thanks to many technological innovations, it is possible to achieve your dream.  Whether you want to build a virtual house for fun or for the purposes of designing a house in real life, there are programs that can help you.  To learn how to find them, please check out the steps below.

Step 1: Visit DesigningOnline.com.  Do you want to build a virtual house to help model a house you intend to build in real life?  If so, this site can help you as it features Plan 3D.  This is a software suite that allows you to create 3D blueprints.  Simply design the blueprint in 2D, then switch to 3D mode to add your furniture.  When you’re finished, the program will let you walk through your new virtual house.

Step 2: Join SecondLife.com.  Second Life is a 3D chatting game that allows you to build a virtual house for fun.  However, in order to be successful, you will need intermediate knowledge of Second Life’s design tools.  But don’t worry.  In the resources section I have included a link to an online video that explains step-by-step how you can build a virtual house in the Second Life universe.  It’s real easy to follow, even if you’re a newbie to the game.

Step 3: Subscribe to ActiveWorlds.com.  Active Worlds is yet another 3D chatting game that allows you to build a virtual house.   And, unlike Second Life, Active Worlds also allows users to embark in “3D web browsing.” 

How does this work?  Basically, website URLs are represented by various objects in the Active Worlds virtual universe.  And if you click on them, you will be taken to the website represented by the object.  You can even add these objects into your own virtual house, assuming you have any websites you’d like to share with the public.
