Millions of individuals at one time or another strain their back muscles.  This causes some pain and discomfort.  However, more than anything else, it immobilizes a persons movement.  I am not a medical doctor.  Any type of injury, should be seen by a professional individual.  That being said, I discovered a simple measure during the the NBA playoffs in 1989 that can add some relief to a strained back.  This article will explain how to relieve lower back stress.

First;  Take a bath towel and fold it one time.  If you are a rather large person, do not fold it at all.  Start at one end and roll it as tightly as you can.  Do this until, it is very tightly rolled.

Second;  Place a large rubber band on each end to keep it from unrolling.

Third;  Find a comfortable spot on the floor.  Usually in front of your television.  You could read a magazine article if you want.  You need something to pass the time.  Keep in mind, you can't be moving around.

Fourth;  Lay with your belly on the floor.  Remove your shoes.  This position can be very uncomfortable with shoes on.

Fifth;  Place both elbows on the rolled towel in front of you.  Use your hands to prop up your head.  This is a must.  Do not lay your head down.

Sixth;  Hold this position for at least 20 minutes.

This simple maneuver adds a slight but extended stretch in your lower back.  It is slightly more than an everyday type of movement.  It stretches out and holds the lower back muscle for a period of time.

The back muscle is the weakest muscle in the body.  It is easy to injure, by lifting extra weights.  This happens, when you don't use your body properly for lifting items.  With in moments, the muscle will tighten up.  The only way to give it relief is by a long extended stretch.  Notice, I said relief and not heal.  Healing will take some time and repeated stretching efforts. Slow efforts.  This exercise will not heal only give some relief.
