Gifts giving can be a difficult task when there are so many people you want to purchase an item for but the money is a little short. There is no better gift in most people’s opinion than a homemade gift so why not give the gift of food. The great thing with this gift is that you don’t have to cook. Giving a gift jar cookie mix is a great way to give a food item that will last longer than a week and helps decorate a counter or table. It is also great because you can make them ahead of time and even a few extra for those people you forgot about. Not only is this a really cute gift idea but the cookies also taste great! Things you will need: 1 ¼ Cups All Purpose Flour ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda ¼ Teaspoon Cinnamon ½ Packed Cup Brown Sugar ½ Cup Granulated Sugar 1 Bag M&M Semi Sweet Baking Bits 1 ¼ Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs 1 Quart Decorative Jar Ribbon Mixing Bowl Spoon Paper Markers Step 1: In a large mixing bowl combine Flour, Baking Soda, Cinnamon and mix well. Set aside for use later. Step 2: In your decorative jar add all your brown sugar and pack it firmly in place. Step 3: Next add the Granulated Sugar, make sure to press the firmly in place as well. Step 4: The third layer of your ingredients placed in the decorative jar should be the mixture you made in step one. Again take the time to make sure it is firmly pressed in place. Step 5: After your mixture add all the graham cracker crumbs and press well. Step 6: You jar should be almost filled at this point. Top with as many M&M baking bits as you can fit to completely fill the decorative jar. Step 7: Tightly secure the lid on your decorative jar. Step 8: To decorate the jar first you will need to make a recipe card to attach. To do this take a piece of paper and markers, this gives it more of a home made look. On the paper write: Step 9: Punch a hole in the corner of the recipe card and string it onto the ribbon. Step 10: Attach ribbon around the lip of the decorative jar and tie in a bow.
