|How to Make Jewelry from a Recycled Vacuum Tube|

Vacuum tubes from old, unwanted TVs and radios can be taken from the trash bin and recycled to make spectacular charms. Vacuum tubes can be recycled to make spectacular charms to incorporate into your hand made jewelry. This tutorial will explain how to recycle vacuum tubes and make new, stunning fashion jewelry.
Step 1: Sketch the design for your jewelry.
Step 2: Identify some vacuum tubes to recycle into jewelry from an old TV or radio. You will need at least one vacuum tube to make a pendant. You will need at least two vacuum tubes to make earrings.
Step 3: Decide whether you will use the vacuum tube(s) as they are or decorate then with paint or decoupaged with Mod Podge® and reclaimed or recycled paper.
Step 4: If desired, decorate the tubes with paint or decoupaged with Mod 3. Podge® and reclaimed or recycled paper.
Step 5: Most vacuum tubes have wires on the top side of the tubes. These wires can be used to attach rings for findings. Feed a jump ring through the top of the wire. Repeat with a second vacuum tube if you are creating earrings.
Step 6: Feed the finding through the jump ring. If you are creating a pendant, then you will need to feed a bail through the jump ring. If you are creating earrings, then you will need to feed the ear wire findings through the jump ring.
Tips & Warnings: These charms lend themselves to pendants, necklaces and earrings. Vacuum tubes are made from glass and, thus, are less suitable charms for bracelets.
