You would be amazed at how much you can do around your house with just two little ingredients, baking soda and vinegar. You can use them together for some tasks or by themselves. They can be as strong and effective or as gentle as necessary for the type of job you are tackling.
I would first like to tell you of the gentle task of the remedy of a diaper rash. I have beautiful grown twin girls who had the most horrible diaper rash when they were babies. I used every diaper and every salve on the market, to the extreme of using cloth diapers . . . not knowing what the cause of the rash was; was it allergies to the diap0ers, detergents, or what. I felt because it only got worse and worse, I had tears at the appearance of their rash almost in a bleeding stage. The remedy I finally found – I poured a couple of tablespoons of baking soda in warm water, soaked the baby butts in the water for about 10 minutes twice a day, dried them with a blow dryer and let them lay on their tummies for as long as they would allow. In no time at all, the rash was gone!
To clean the kitchen surfaces, make a small paste of baking soda and vinegar and scrub as you would with cleanser. Cleans the surfaces sparkling, with no abrasion, then rinse with warm water. Baking soda in warm water can also clean out the whole refrigerator, which is an inexpensive alternative to some other harsh chemical cleaners. I am sure you are also aware of the use of an open box of baking soda to deter odors in the refrigerator.
To clean glass surfaces, use of straight vinegar in warm water. This is such an old remedy that my mom and grandmother used for years. It is cheap and very effective if you don’t mind your home smelling like a salad. Actually, it is much better than some of the chemical cleaners that are harmful to the family.
This combination of baking soda and vinegar is a safe and sanitary combination that can be used to clean the entire home from the kitchen to the bath. To get a good sanitary, sparkling bath, again combine the baking soda in warm water to clean the floors, shower stalls, and water ever surfaces you need to tackle. Don’t forget the vinegar & water for the mirror and fixtures. A paste of the baking soda & vinegar is great for the toilet, the sink and tub, wherever you need a more effective cleanser type cleaning. Again, just rinse with warm water and dry. You will be amazed and how sparkling your whole bath will be, and will smell so clean. A little plug in deodorizer and people will think you toiled all day.
Baking soda does come in a large size box and as well as the vinegar and with these two ingredients; it is pretty safe to say you can tackle anything around your home and is safe for the children and pets as well.
Good luck and happy cleaning. Looking at the box of baking soda, there are so many more uses to be found, even some health remedies as well. Hope these tips are useful to you.
