How to Carve A Pumpkin |

I do not know about you,but I love Halloween! The limitless candy, the costumes, the horror movies on television, and, most of all,the jack-o'-lanterns! Step 1: Take a black Sharpie pen and draw on the roundest and cleanest side of your pumpkin the face or pattern you have chosen(make sure to draw the design smaller than it is suppose to be,so that you can cut out the pen marks). Step 2: While the pen markings dry,cut out the bottom of the pumpkin with a large, sharp knife-not the top, because cutting off the top makes your pumpkin look messy and unkempt, also,it is easier to just set the pumpkin atop a candle on a plate rather than setting the lit candle inside the pumpkin from the top. Step 3: Afterwards, lift the bottom out slowly. Step 4: Use either a pumpkin scrapper from your local store,a large metal spoon or even just your hands to remove the pumpkin guts. Step 5: Now,cut out the face/pattern on the pumpkin with a small, sharp knife, slowly and gently. Step 6: Afterwards, push the disposable parts inward slowly,so you do not tear off any of the pumpkin that you didn't intend to. Step 7: Take a bottle of lemon juice and spray the inside of the pumpkin and the outside of it.Rub in the lemon juice. This helps to keep your pumpkin from mildewing! Tips: If you do not want an ordinary jack-o'-lantern face or you are not very good with drawing free-hand,your local stores carry papers, even books containing patterns that you can trace onto your pumpkin! Warnings: Be careful when cutting the pumpkin.Remember, cut slowly and gently. If children do this, adults are recommended to supervise!
