DVD and CD can get scratched. If you have a disc that you use a lot or leave out in your car it is highly recommended you make back up copy to use. Then when the back up copy is scratched you can save a lot of money buy simply burning a other back up copy.

Still scratches can be fixed without buying any extra items. You can fix the scratch with household items.

Clean the scratch CD or DVD disk with a dry rag or paper towel. Do not use chemicals. Chemicals may cause more harm to the disk. If need you a damp cloth with water to clean the disk.

Apply a small amount of tooth paste to the scratch CD or DVD disk. A small dot of tooth paste will cover the whole disk.

With the soft cloth or paper towel smooth the toothpaste until you can no longer see the toothpaste.

If the CD or DVD improves but still has problems playing repeat the process.
