How to Cope with Chronic Pain Naturally

Unfortunately, there are many people who suffer from chronic pain. Some of those suffers have decided to take a more natural approach to pain relief. Using natural pain relief can be much better on your body that over the counter or prescription pain medication. Most over the counter and prescription pain medications can damage your body, some damage, like the damage done to your live, can be irreversible. There are many different herbs and other natural substances that you can use to control and even eliminate your pain. Below you will find different natural substances that can help your chronic pain.

Step One:

The supplement 5-HTP is derived from amino acid combined with DLPA; a mixture of amino acids can help the body produce its own pain fighting enzymes. Though, 5-HTP is very effective in helping to relieve chronic pain and even help you sleep you will want to use caution when taking it. The supplement has been know to interact badly with other medication causing excessive drowsiness, anxiety and other unwanted side affects. Some ingredients that 5-HTP interact badly with can be found in common, over the counter cold and allergy medicines. You should talk to your doctor before taking 5-HTP.

Step Two:

The substance melatonin is very good for helping you get to sleep if the pain is too much to fall asleep on your own. Melatonin is already produced by the body to help tell the brain when it is time to go to sleep. Adding extra melatonin will help you get to sleep easier if you are in pain if the other things you are taking are not helping at bedtime. However, if you would prefer to use herbs to help with chronic pain management there are many to choose from.

Step Three:

If you prefer to use herbs, one you may want to try is white willow bark. This herb not only helps to reduce pain but also will help with inflammation. However, you should not take this herb with other NSAIDs because it acts like aspirin. You can also try Boswellia and Ginger to help with inflammation in the muscles with can cause chronic pain as well. You should always talk to your doctor before taking herbs to help with chronic pain, he or she can tell you the pros and cons along with helping you decide what is better for your body.
