How to Live on 09/09/09

9/9/09 is not a palindrome, but it is close, beyond that it’s got no power at all. Don’t even look for it.

A palindrome is a word phrase or number that is the same written forward or backward. For example, 9/9/9 would be a palindrome, as if we added a zero to the month, then we’d have one (90/9/09).

It has absolutely no power in the world, other than in people’s addled minds. The last cat was born on 7/7/07, so you would expect the rising of a powerful animal to follow suit today. A dragon rising from the ocean has no less rage over the world.

The planets do not align or anything remotely interesting. The waves still fall broken on the shores. The foot hills of the mountains continue to erode as they have for every other day of their existence, including the ones where the great earthquakes actually formed them.

People will go to work. Many will be born today and unfortunately, many will die. It is a date. It is a date in a calendar system that was invented a long, long time ago, and has eternal problems even coexisting with the natural world and the rotation of the Earth around the sun. The year grows late, and neither one, wanted to remain alone.

But people will spend the rest of today searching 9/9/09 in Google, and will be looking for any hint of interesting effect. There is no historical record for the date, as it has only been upon the world for a few hours now. There may or may not be any future historical value to the date 9/9/09. For that, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

Live your life the same. Enjoy every day as if it had historical value.
