Do you love smashed potatoes? Here is the best smashed potatoes recipe. If you enjoy potatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese, and garlic, this is the recipe for you. In a crock-pot, add 3 pounds of halved or quartered golden Yukon potatoes, 4 minced cloves of garlic, ½ cup of water, and 2 tablespoons of oil. I usually buy the jars of garlic that are already minced to save time. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Do not open the lid till it is time or the heat you have generated will be lost. Once potatoes are soft, add 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ cup of milk. Smash the ingredients together and add 6 pieces of crumbled crispy bacon and ½ pound of cheddar cheese and mix together. You can put this on low and keep warm for about 2 hours. For creamier smashed potatoes, add a half block of cream cheese.
