Genital Herpes is common in our day and time it is a disease that causes painful sores in the genital area. The sores look like those of a fever blister or cold sore. This disease is usually transmitted from one person to another during sexual contact and is not necessarily confined to intercourse. This virus can be passed to a baby during the birth process if the mother has an active herpes infection at the time of delivery. This genital herpes can possibly be contracted by contact with a toilet seat or other items where the infected persons body has came in contact with. The herpes simplex family has a few members and one of those is called type one this member comes with cold sores and fever blisters The next member of this family is called type two and is related to genital herpes because both have been found to be a possible result of oral sexual contact with a person who has an active herpes cold sore. There is no known cure for genital herpes and here are a few things you can do to avoid genital herpes. 1- If you are involved with a new sexual partner ask them if they are infected with the herpes virus and you can also look for sores or blisters on the anus, thigh, or buttocks of both sexes or inside or outside of a woman’s genital and on the outer genital of men. 2- Avoid multiple sexual partners and always use a condom during intercourse. 3- Use of a spermicide may help the risk of infection. 4- If your new sexual partner tells you he or she has herpes avoid sexual contact of any kind especially when sores are open.
