With the recent trend in Americaâ€™s expanding waistlines, more and more people are looking for a way to win the, â€śbattle of the bulge.â€ť But surprisingly, losing weight isnâ€™t as hard as it many people make it out to be. It just takes a few small changes in oneâ€™s lifestyle and dedication to succeed.
Suggested Grocery List:
Cans of tuna fish
Whole wheat bread
Fruits (great examples include: bananas, apples, nectarines, plums, and peaches.)
Steak, cut into small, lean pieces
Salad ingredients (carrots, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes)
Balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Special K cereal
Slices of lean turkey breast
Non-fat or skim milk
Plan out your menu for the day in advance. This will help you to stay on course, and gives you a roadmap for your eating day. Using the items listed as an outline to help you plan meals and start losing weight.
Take an hour out of each day and set it aside for exercise of some nature. You can even break it up into two 30-minute or three 20-minute sessions. But this is an important step to your success and journey to lose 5 pounds in a week.
Drink plenty of water. Remember that adage, â€śyou are what you drink.â€ť If you drink plenty of empty calories in drinks like pop, coffee, or alcoholic beverages, youâ€™re setting yourself up for failure. Replacing some of those drinks throughout the day with a glass of water with go a long way in helping you lose weight. Drinking 2 liters of water a day will help you lose 5 pounds in a week.
Eat small portions. Small portions will help you to keep your caloric intake at optimal levels. For a reference, remember that a serving of meat should be about as big as a deck of cards.
Stop eating fast food. Meals from fast food restaurants are high-fat, calorie-dense food choices that will sabotage any good diet. If you have to pull through the drive-through, make as health-conscious a decision as you can. Choose a salad, hold the croutons and dressing and you will be well on your way to losing 5 pounds in a week.
No meals after 8PM. After 8PM, statistically, your bodyâ€™s metabolism begins to slowdown, causing you to not be able to burn fat as easily. Eating after this time can result in your body storing excess calories in the form of fat.
Losing weight is not as big an obstacle as it seems to be. The most important thing to remember is to set reasonable goals, and stick to them. Remember you can lose 5 pounds in a week, you just have to set your mind to it!
