I am not much for preparing shellfish seafood. I do enjoy items like Shrimp, Lobster and Crab. Recently, I decided to try making some Shrimp. Instead of buying it already prepared, I decided to try and do it by myself. I always enjoy experimenting with food items, but I had never done any type of shellfish. This article will explain a very simple way to prepare shellfish.

I went to the store and bought some Zatarain's boil. A box cost me $1.76.

Step One; Wash your shellfish in cold water. I use a small cloth to help remove any debris or soil.

Step Two; Take out one bag of the crab boil. It will hold about four pounds of Shrimp or Crayfish or a dozen medium size Crabs.

Step Three; Place your shellfish in a large pot, add three quarts of water, four teaspoons of salt, and one bag of Zatarain's Crab Boil mix. one quartered lemon, and cayenne pepper to taste.

Step Four; Bring the mixture to a rapid boil. Do Crabs for five minutes, Shrimp and Crayfish for two minutes. Do not go longer than that.

Step Five; Turn off the flame and let the shellfish remain for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Step Six; Add two Tablespoons of white vinegar to the water. The vinegar will make it easier to get the shell off, when you are ready to eat.

Step Six; Place it with your favorite dip and veggies.

Step Seven; Eat up

I know this sounds like a product review and I guess it is in some ways. However, it is a great and easy way to fix your favorite shellfish.
