Bananas are one of the many fruits containing nutrients and vitamins, especially potassium. Making a banana smoothie is a perfect way to nourish your body and eat one of the recommended five fruits a day.
1. The first step to making a banana smoothie is to have an electric blender. Add one hand full of ice to the electric blender. Cut up one banana and add to the ice.
2. Add one cup of yogurt to the banana and ice. You can choose a vanilla flavor, or if you prefer, a strawberry and vanilla blend. I would not recommend a lime or kiwi flavored yogurt for this type of smoothie.
3. Add one cup of milk. You can use whole milk or fat free milk. Set the electric blender to the chopped mode. Chop up the ice for about thirty seconds or until fully chopped. After the ice is chopped, switch the settings to the mix mode.
