How to Make an Original Hurricane

The Hurricane is a potent fruit punch drink made famous by the world famous Pat O' Brien’s bar in the New Orleans French Quarter. Its not a difficult drink to make and the ingredients are readily available.. Just follow these steps to make your own Hurricanes and be prepared because its a great tasting drink and it will sneak up on you..

 

 

Step 1: Gather the ingredients. You will need, lemons, dark rum, passion fruit syrup, crushed ice, maraschino cherries and a orange or lime.

Step. 2: In a cocktail shaker, add one ounce of lemon juice, 4 ounces dark rum, 4 ounces passion fruit syrup, crushed ice, an orange and /or lime slice and 1 maraschino cherry.

Step 3: Shake vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes and serve.

I used to be a bartender and always confused Hurricanes and Singapore Slings. And my mom had a really funny story about Hurricanes and Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. It apparently involved falling off of a bar stool. LOL
