Intro: There are different type of stalkers that roam close behind the one's they become fixated on. Many people whose relationship ends before they want to and who are emotionally immature are not willing to let go of the person they've called "their" mate. These people become an obsessive ex-lover whose relationship has now become a "fatal attraction".

A different type of stalker is an acquaintance or friend whose become bitter and seeks revenge for one reason or another. There are also love obsessions which stalkers develop over people they might have never met. Whatever the case may be, stalkers should be considered dangerous. For the safety of whoever is being stalked, taking the proper precautions is imperative.

Step 1

Make sure to alert your neighbors, friends and loves ones of your situation. If you have a picture of the stalker make sure to provide them with one so they are quick to call the proper authorities if the stalkers goes near your home. If the person stalking you drives a vehicle, give a description of the vehicle to your neighbors and tell them to call the police immediately if the spot the vehicle. Call your local police department and give these descriptions to them as well. The police will be on the lookout for him while on patrol in your neighborhood.

Step 2

When receiving an unexpected visit at home, make sure you aware of your visitor before letting him in your house. Make sure the visitor identifies himself if you are unable to recognize him. Remember, stalkers are intelligent and might look innocent but a situation can get unpredictable and out of control if you don't take the proper precautions. Also, if you will be going on trips anywhere, inform them of this so they know when they should expect you.

Step 3

Get yourself an alarm system if you can afford it. A guard dog would also be a good purchase to keep you safe and alert at all times. Also, make sure your fuse box is locked and have flashlights and extra batteries around.

Step 4

Keep windows and doors secure and change locks if you must. I'd recommend a handgun if you are 21 years or older and if you can get a concealed weapons permit. Look into it, it might come in handy.

Step 5

Do not open up any mysterious looking packages delivered to you unless you know who they are coming from.

Step 6

If you have children, make sure to accompany them to school and inform teachers and administration of your problems.

Step 7

You might want to consider changing your phone number and not making it public.f the stalker is tempted to call you, he won't be able to reach you.
