How to Change The Desktop Icon Size in Windows XP

Changing the size of your desktop icons in Windows is a very easy process involving a few simple steps that I will describe below.

Step 1: Right click an empty spot on you desktop. You will see a list of options. Click on properties.

Step 2: The display properties will open. Click the appearance tab at the top of the box. A new set of options will appear. In the lower right corner click on the advanced button.

Step 3: The advanced appearance box will pop up. On the lower half of the box you will see - item: and in the box the word desktop high lighted. Click on the down facing arrow next to it and choose icon.

In the box just to the right that says size, you can type in the desired size or use the arrows to adjust it for you. The higher the value the larger the icon size. You can increase or decrease the size from here. Once done, click OK. That’s it.
