The war in Iraq has raged on for nearly 7 years. From time to time the news reports have told stories of how our troops have often questioned why they are there in the first place. There is no doubt that our soldiers need our encouragement. Words can be uplifting to our soldier's spirits, and gifts can bring joy and hope for them as well. This article will give you some ideas on how to encourage our soldiers. How to Encourage our Soldiers

Recognize the bravery and importance of our soldiers. Our freedom can be easily taken for granted. First and foremost, understand the difficult time these courageous individuals and their families have been through. Give them recognition for their brave and unselfish acts.

After understanding their honorable actions, adopt one. Adopting a soldier means you'd be able to share with them a piece of you. This will help him/her feel special and not forgotten.

Send them care packages. Care packages include anything you'd like them to have. Ideally, things they need are preferred. Toiletries, yummy snacks, socks , magazines, and games are some items that you can include. If your soldier is a woman, include beauty products. This will allow them to have a feel of home when they are away from it. Send them as often as you can.

You'd be able to trade emails back and forth with some soldiers and they can inform you of their needs. If not, remember soldiers are busy, include whatever you think might be uplifting.

Make sure to include a letter with words of encouragement.Remember, adopting a soldier is a great way for you to get involved in keeping them encouraged. Never forget that words have great power in breaking down or lifting up someone's spirit.
