One of the best presents that a child can give their father is a homemade Fathers Day card. They are much better than a store bough card, because they show a form of your artistic character. It also shows that you put more time and effort into it, than just buying a card. This article will explain how to make a simple homemade card.
You will need construction paper, scissors, tape, letter stencils, pencil, ruler, stickers, and a picture of your father doing something like fishing or playing golf.
First, fold your construction paper in half. The creased in of the card should be to your left side. Next take your ruler and draw equal lines on the cover side. This is where you put your letter stencils. With the stencil, center the letters and put the words Happy Fathers Day on it. Now erase the pencil lines leaving only the stencil letters. Use pant or colored markers and color in the letters.
On the inside of the card, tape the picture of your father into the center of the right side of the cards interior. Now take your stickers and place them around the picture. Use stickers like stars, American flags, sports, or wildlife. These are masculine stickers for a dad.
Now on the left side of the interior of the card, write a personal phrase to your dad. Some people even do a brief poem. It really doesn't matter as long as it is from your heart. You might refer to the picture you just put in. Whatever you write, make sure that it refers to Fathers Day.
Don't for get your brothers and sisters. It is always nice to add their names to the card, too.
Now take a good look at your card. do you need to add something to the front cover? If so, you can take your scissors and cut out something from a magazine cover. You can put a sports-car, a fish, eagle, boat, horse, hunting dog, or anything that would fit without covering up the card title.
Don't over do it with the tape. Just use enough to hold it and the picture in place. You can place a small rolled up piece of tape on the corners to hold it in place.
A homemade Fathers Day card has special meaning.
