caffeineIf you know it is time to give up caffeine because you no longer are experiencing a boost of energy when you drink coffee or tea, then read on. Giving up caffeine is very hard because it is an addictive substance, but your overall energy level will increase if you do.

Step 1: Make the decision to give up caffeine. Caffeine is in coffee, tea, cola, and chocolate. These are the products you will need to give up.

Step 2: Make every effort to get rid of these items around your home or office area. The less temptation you have for caffeine products the better.

How to Give Up CaffeineStep 3: Start some light exercise during your normal coffee break. Go for a short walk or walk the stairs in your building. The time that you previously spent preparing yourself a coffee can now be spent on increasing your energy level naturally.

Step 4: Get a good night's sleep the night before you stop consuming caffeine.

Step 5: Stop all Caffeine intake including the items listed in step 1.

Step 6: Have some non-caffeine (check the label) pain relief medicine on hand. The second day you will start to feel like you might have a mild flu.

Step 7: Stick with it. Days 3-6 will be a little rough depending on how much caffeine you were putting in your body before you quit.

Step 8: You made it a week, congratulations! You will feel your energy level start to rise. Stay focused and you will never need caffeine again.

Giving up caffeine can be really tough for people. I was never a big coffee drinker but I do enjoy tea.
