How to Drink a Guinness

Intro: Guinness is the beer of choice for any Irishman and is becoming more popular throughout the U.S. Follow these steps to learn how to drink a Guinness.

Step 1: To start off a Guinness must be served cold. The ideal temperature for a Guinness is 5-8 degrees C (41-46 degrees F).

Step 2: You will need to have a pint glass, preferably a Guinness pint glass. Tilt the glass and slowly pour in about 75 percent of the Guinness.

Step 3: Set the Guinness aside for 1-2 minutes to allow it to settle.

Step 4: Next, slowly pour in the rest of the Guinness. Let it settle for a few short moments and then drink! Enjoy!

Tips: If at a bar, make sure you don’t grab the beer while the bartender is letting it settle.

To drink Guinness, you should always use a pint glass.

Warnings: Darker beers tend to fill you up a bit more, so have some lighter beers nearby if you plan on drinking many.

Never drink and drive.
