How to Replace or Install a New Toilet

First turn the water supply valve off. Flush toilet to remove as much water as possible from the reservoir tank. Remove the water supply line from the tank.

Loosen and remove nuts from toilet bowl. Carefully lift the toilet up off of the closet flange,not to spill excess water in toilet bowl.You can use a large garbage bag to slide the toilet bowl into to make moving without a lot of excessive water spillage.

Scrape off all of the old wax ring from the closet flange.using a scraper or a painters tool. Insert the new bolts into the closet flange and install a new wax ring on the bottom of toilet bowl.

Place new toilet bowl onto closet flange aligning the bolts through the holes. Twist toilet into place. Apply cap washers and nuts. Slightly tighten until bowl is secure on the floor.(use shims if necessary).

Replace water supply line to the reservoir tank. Turn water supply valve on and check for leaks. Tighten nuts if necessary.
