Intro: If you have a bumpy and itchy area on your skin after spending time out in the woods, then you may have poison ivy. Follow these steps to cure poison ivy naturally.
Step 1: If you think you may have touched poison ivy or are starting to get it, you should wash the area with soap and water without letting the water run all over your body. You want the water to hit the area and then drip down off of your body to help prevent spreading of the poison ivy.
Step 2: Do not wash with a washcloth or dry with a towel because this will help spread the poison ivy to other areas.
Step 3: If no water and soap are available try rinsing the area with paint thinner or acetone to help remove the oils from the poison ivy.
Step 4: Drink some goldenseal or take some Echinacea to help cure poison ivy.
Step 5: Wash the infected area with lemon juice a few times a day.
Step 6: Rub a banana peal on the area to help relieve itching of the poison ivy rash.
Step 7: Make sure you wash your clothes after being outside in wooded areas and never cover your poison ivy rash up with clothing. For example, if your forearm has poison ivy then you should wear short sleeves until it is cured.
Tips: To cure poison ivy, avoid the plant all together. Poison ivy is a small plant which has three leaves and a notch in the two outer leaves.
When washing and rinsing your poison ivy rash, hot water is better than cold water.
Warnings: See your doctor after coming into contact with poison ivy for a professional opinion on treatment.
