How to Get a Free Computer

Intro: There are many ways to get a computer free without having to win a contest or sweepstakes. Follow these steps to get a free computer.

Step 1: To get a free computer, you should check out craigslist.org. Craigslist is an online classified website which lists item for sale in your local area. There is a “free” section on Craigslist where people offer free items. The other day, a lot of 20 old computers were on Craigslist for free!

Step 2: Check yellowpages.com for recycling centers. Sometimes recycling centers will give away computers in order to eliminate electronic waste. If the computers are not free, you may be able to purchase one for a small free.

Step 3: To get a free computer, check out freecycle.org. This website is “a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.” You can browse groups, search for groups in your area, and join local groups. Once you join a few local groups, continually check to see if someone has a computer to give away.

Step 4: At homeschool555.com, you can get a computer loaned to you for free as long as you home school a child and put down a 100 dollar refundable deposit.

Step 5: To get a free computer, you may be able to get one from sharetechnology.com, but only if you have a disability.

Step 6: If the free computer is for a non-profit or school, then you may be able to get a used computer from recycles.org, cristina.org, or sharetechnology.org.

Tips: To get a free computer, search for free computers near where you live in Google. You may not find any search results, but it’s worth a try.

Warnings: A used computer may be in bad shape but is better than nothing.

There are many scams out there; so be weary of any offers which seem to good to be true.
