How to Make Blueberry Pie

Intro: Not only is this pie to die for but it contains one of the healthiest fruits out there; blueberries. Follow these steps to make blueberry pie.

Step 1: For the blueberry pie filling, you will need ½ cup of sugar, ¼ cup of all-purpose flour, ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice, and 3 pints of cleaned blueberries.

Step 2: Add the lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and blueberries to a bowl and mix well.

Step 3: Add the blueberry filling to the pie crust and top the pie with a top crust. Crimp the sides of the pie together to seal the filling.

Step 4: Place the pie in the fridge for 25 minutes. The filling should be firm.

Step 5: Mix together an egg and tablespoon of milk. Brush this mixture on the top of the pie and then cut 4 slits into the pie. The slits help decorate the pie and help release steam when cooking.

Step 6: Bake your blueberry pie at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes and then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake for about 35 minutes. The juices should be bubbling.

Step 7: Let the pie cool down for a little while, then serve, and enjoy!

Tips: You can use a homemade crust or buy pre-made ones from your grocery store.

Warnings: The blueberry pie will be super hot when removing it from the oven; use oven mitts and let it cool for a good amount of time before eating.
