How to Make Cherry Pie

Intro: To make this pie, you should use either canned or frozen unsweetened tart cherries. You can find these at any supermarket. Follow these steps to make cherry pie.

Step 1: Gather the ingredients. You will need 1 cup granulated sugar, 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca, ½ teaspoon almost extract, 4 cups unsweetened tart cherries, a pie crust, and 2 tablespoons of butter.

Step 2: Add the almond extract, tapioca, granulated sugar, and cherries to a bowl and mix well. Let this mix sit for 10-15 minutes before putting it in the pie crust shell.

Step 3: Add the cherry pie ingredients to the pie crust, and top the pie with another crust. Crimp the crust together to seal the edges.

Step 4: Make sure you preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Once preheated, bake your cherry pie for 50 minutes. The crust should become golden brown and the filling should bubble.

Step 5: Let the pie cool on a wire rack for a bit, then serve, and enjoy!

Tips: Cut slits in the top pie crust for a decorative look. This also helps to let steam escape.

Warnings: The cherry pie will be very hot when removing it from the oven; use oven mitts and let it cool for awhile before eating.
