Intro: Tanning can be unhealthy for your skin but getting some sunlight is good for you. Tanning properly can help prevent the negative sides of sunlight but still let you reap the benefits of being outside. Follow these steps to learn how to tan.
Step 1: Prevent yourself from getting burned at all costs. Sun burn is terrible for your skin and should be avoided at all costs. You can avoid sun burning by starting off with a high SPF sunscreen and gradually reducing the SPF as your skin becomes tanner. In a tanning bed, you should only tan for about 8 minutes at first and gradually add time as your skin becomes tanner.
Step 2: After you get out of the sun, you should moisturize your skin. Some of the best lotions are lotions with Aloe Vera. Apply to every area of your exposed skin after getting out of the sun.
Step 3: If out in the sun for long periods of time, you should apply sun screen multiple times. Every half hour, you should spread a little more sun screen on your exposed skin.
Step 4: When in the shower, you should exfoliate your skin with a loofah and cleansing cream. After the shower, apply more Aloe Vera lotion.
Step 5: Try using a spray on tan or tanning lotion. Many people experience some success with these products if they are applied correctly.
Tips: Enjoy the sun in moderation.
Even if you are super tan, you should still use sun screen.
Warnings: Excessive exposure to the sun can cause skin cancer. Wear sunscreen everyday.
