How to Rent Your Own Billboard

Intro: Renting a billboard is great way to advertise yourself or business. With more and more people fast forwarding through commercials, billboard advertising is becoming more popular. Follow these steps to rent your own billboard.

Step 1: You will need to contact the billboard company but before doing that, you should have a budget in mind and an advertising message in mind.

Step 2: Set a budget. Some billboards can cost 10 grand a month and some can cost only a few hundred a month. The more popular the location of the billboard, the more it will cost. Once you have a budget in mind, you will have to determine what billboard you can afford. Getting a billboard at Times Square, New York may be out of the question.

Step 3: Decide on the advertising message. Your billboard should have a quick and simple message. People are usually driving by your billboard and don’t have time to read a long message. Try to keep you message under 10 words.

Step 4: Once you have an idea of what your billboard will look like, you should contact the billboard company. The name of their company will usually be at the bottom of the billboard. Usually, they will work with you on everything from designing the billboard to monitoring traffic passing by the ad.

Tips: Don’t forget that you will have to pay for the big poster which will go on the billboard.

Post an ad for a free gift or sweepstakes that your company or website is running. Many people will notice ads which reference something free or something about money.

Bookabillboard.com is the best place to check billboard prices and availability. They have a searchable database that lets you search by city, state or zip. And its free too.
