How to Find Cheap Advertising

Intro: If you are starting a business or are in a tight financial situation, there are many cheaper ways to advertise your company. Follow these steps and suggestions to learn more.

Step 1: Submit your company to craigslist.org. If you are selling something, you can post it on craigslist. If you are providing a service there is a spot to post it on craigslist. You can almost post anything on that website and it is entirely free.

Step 2: If you have an informative article or blog post on your website, you can submit links to the article and your website at social bookmarking sites such as digg.com, reddit.com, delicious.com, and stumpleupon.com. This can help drive traffic to your website.

Step 3: Start a company MySpace and Facebook page. Many companies are signing up with MySpace and Facebook to help spread publicity about their website and company. This can give you 100 percent free advertising.

Step 4: Purchase a car magnet and place it on the side of your car. I always notice cars with these magnets and their advertisements work on me. Check out vistaprint.com, to order a car magnet. This is not free but is definitely a very cheap form of advertising.

Step 5: Print out a huge stack of fliers and put them under people’s wiper blades. Post the fliers on light poles, apartment complexes, and etc. This is another cheap and effective way to advertise.

Step 6: Take out an ad in a small local newspaper. These ads usually aren’t too expensive and can help get your company name out there.

Step 7: Try Google AdWords. You can sign up for this advertising program and get your ads placed on relevant websites. Tips: Some of these cheap advertising methods will work and some will not. Eventually, you will have to open up your advertising budget a bit.
