How to Make Hand Sanitizer

Intro: Avoid purchasing expensive retail hand sanitizers and start making your own. If you run out of store bought hand sanitizer or don’t think they work well enough, follow these steps to make a natural antibacterial hand sanitizer.

Step 1: Get a container to store your sanitizer in. A squeeze bottle or spray bottle will work well for this hand sanitizer. Sometimes a spray bottle may get clogged up a bit with the hand sanitizer, depending on how thick it is.

Step 2: To make hand sanitizer, gather the ingredients. To make a natural hand sanitizer, you will need the following ingredients:

-Aloe Vera Gel

-Rubbing Alcohol

-Grapefruit Seed Extract

-Cinnamon Oil

-Glycerin

Step 3: You will need a half cup of Aloe Vera, 2.5 teaspoons of rubbing alcohol, 15 drops of the grapefruit seed extract,  12 drops of cinnamon oil, 1 teaspoon glycerin. You can add other oils for different scents.

Step 4: Slowly mix in all of the ingredients one by one in the order listed above. The peppermint essential oil gives your hand sanitizer and clean and crisp smell. You can substitute different essential oils with a different smell, if you prefer. Slowly add the water last until it gets to the desired thickness.

Step 5: Pour the natural antibacterial hand sanitizer mixture into your squeeze or spray bottle and enjoy your natural sanitizer. You may need a funnel to get your hand sanitizer into the bottle depending on the size of the opening.

Tips: Use less water if your natural antibacterial hand sanitizer is not thick enough.

Warnings: If this mixture causes irritation then cease using.
