How to Make a Pina Colada

Intro: In 1963 the pina colada was born. Over the years, the pina colada has become the drink of choice for vacationers on the beach. Follow these steps to making your own pina colada’s at home.

Step 1: Gather your ingredients. You will need rum, coconut rum, coconut cream or coconut milk, pineapple juice, and ice.

Step 2: Add 1 and 2/3 ounces of rum, 1 and 2/3 ounces of coconut rum, 2 ounces of pineapple juice, 1 and 2/3 ounces of coconut cream or coconut milk, and 2 cups of ice to your blender.

Step 3: Blend these ingredients on a low speed for about 15-25 seconds or until the ice is completely blended in the drink.

Step 4: Pour your pina colada into a pina colada glass.

Step 5: Garnish your pina colada with a slice of pineapple and umbrella (optional) and enjoy!

Tips: Pina colada’s can be strong so drink them in moderation.

You can vary the amount of alcohol you add to get the exact flavor you prefer.

For a virgin pina colada, just don’t add rum.

Warnings: Don’t drink and drive.
