Hard Boiled Eggs

Intro: Hard boiling an egg is simple to do but if you don’t follow some tricks and tactics, you will run into a few headaches in the process. Follow these steps to make hard boiled eggs.

Step 1: Use eggs that are a few days old. Buy your eggs and then let them sit in the fridge for a few days. This trick will make the eggs a lot easier to peel.

Step 2: Add your eggs to a saucepan with at least an inch of cold water in the bottom. Your eggs should not be stacked on top of each other. They should be single layered. Slowly bring the eggs to a boil and add some salt to the water. Salt can help prevent cracking and make peeling easier. Once the water is boiling, remove the pan from the heat.

Step 3: Turn the heat down to low, place the pan back on the burner, and simmer for one minute.

Step 4: Now you should remove the pan from the heat and cover it with a lid. Let is sit for 10-15 minutes. Check an egg after ten minutes by running it under cold water and opening it.

Step 5: Put all of the eggs into a bowl of ice water or strain out the hot water and add cold water to the pan. Keep dumping out the water as it warms up and add fresh cold water. Store the eggs in the refrigerator and enjoy!

Tips: Cooling the eggs quickly is important so don’t skip that step.

Warnings: The eggs will be hot when done cooking so handle them carefully.
