How to Create a Custom Header for Your Wordpress Blog

Intro: When building a webpage using Wordpress you will notice that the header is not custom. If you are sick of the header that comes with the template, follow these steps to create a custom header for your Wordpress blog.

Step 1: Find out what the header is named. Look in the installation files on your Wordpress and find out what the header image is named. Another way, you can go to your blog and right-click. Select copy background and open a new document, the blank canvas should be the same size as the header you want to replace.

Step 2: Use image editing software to create a header on the blank page. Save the file after you are done creating your header. Save the file under the same name that the current header has.

Step 3: Take the new image you created and replace the existing header. Upload your new custom header for your Wordpress blog to the Wordpress image directory which is in your Wordpress installation. Save the file where the current image file is located so Wordpress will locate the new file.

Step 4: Refresh your blog after you upload the new image. If your new custom header for your Wordpress blog does not display, you will have to go through these steps to make sure you did everything correctly. You will also have to make sure the image saved as .jpg. Double check to make sure you actually uploaded the new file and overwrote the old file.

Tips: Try doing the same thing for other graphics you want to change on your Wordpress blog.

This should work on blogger.com also.
