Intro: Want your articles to get more views and make you more money? Adding keywords to your title, intro, body, and tips and warnings, can help optimize your article but adding keywords to your pictures is one thing people don’t usually think about. Follow these steps to add keywords to your FireHow articles with pictures and get more traffic.
Step 1: After you complete your article and know what keywords are most important to optimize your article you should get a picture to go with your article.
Step 2: When you save the picture to your computer it may save under the file name of 12_img2.jpg. You should change this title from 12_img2.jpg to something that contains your keywords. If your article is “How to Weight Lift” then you should change the picture file name to weight_lift_graphic.jpg.
Step 3: To change it, hold your mouse over the file name. Right-click the file name and select “Rename.” Type in your new file name and then hit enter.
Step 4: Now that your file name is changed you can upload the picture to your article.
Step 5: Also, when you upload a picture, you will see that you can enter an image description and an image title. The image description will go into the alt text of the image and the title will be displayed as a meta title. Many search engine optimization experts agree that this can help your article rank a little bit better for a specific keyword in the search engines.
Step 6: Check the popularity of the keywords in your articles by using Wordtracker. This website will help you find which keywords to use in your articles.
Step 7: Use Google’s Ultimate SEO tool to check the density of keywords your article has. This can help you optimize your articles to earn you the most money.
Tips: Targeting the most popular keywords means you will have a lot of competition.
Targeting less popular keyword can often help you gain more views faster because of less competition.

... Great advice. I have tried to upload pictures for my articles, but they are so huge they dont show the whole picture. I haven't figured out how to downsize them! |

... Interest. I knew that adding pictures helped, but I didn't know the saved file name would make a difference. |

... This was very helpful. I have been trying to do this but I did not think of doing what you suggested in step 4. I will rename my photo files from now on. Thanks! |
