Intro: There are a ton of internet scams out there. They are emailed to us everyday. These scams usually have one thing in common; they give you false promises of wealth and riches. Follow these steps to avoid internet scams.  Step 1: Do not expect a legitimate job offer or money offer to come through a random email. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Legitimate companies don’t send out emails handing out jobs.  Step 2: The most popular internet scams today are spam emails where businesses or people say they need to transfer money to you from a foreign country. No one needs help transferring money anywhere, especially not from a random stranger they emailed.  Step 3: No valid business will ever randomly contact you to let you know they need your help or they have an opening for you. These are just scammers trying to steal your identity.  Step 4: Do not fall for the internet lottery emails. These are common internet scams. Official lotteries do not notify winners by emails. If you never entered a lottery then you will not get an email for one. If you win the lottery, they may knock on your door with a check or will tell you the winning lottery numbers on television, but not through email!  Step 5: Ignore websites that guarantee you will make thousands of dollars a day immediately. These ads are often sent through emails or posted on craigslist. Do you really think that you can sign up for some online program and make thousands of dollars a day from home? The answer is no way! These internet scams are all over the place.  Step 6: Do not get involved with anyone from another country. They may contact you about an apartment listing you have or something you have for sale but these people are just scammers trying to get money and personal information from you.  Tips: Always do some background research about every company who is contacting you about special offers.  Never give any of these companies money online.  Search for the company in Google. You can usually find reviews of any company in minutes.
