How to Get Rid of Fleas

Intro: Fleas can infest your animals and your house. You will need to pay attention for signs of fleas and get rid of any infestations. Follow these steps to get rid of fleas.

Step 1: Monitor your animals and look for signs of fleas. Animals will usually excessively scratch and bite themselves. Some animals will form raw patches on their body from this excessive scratching. Check your animal’s fur coat to see if there are any black specs or small dried blood spots. If your animals are showing any of these symptoms then they may have fleas.

Step 2: You should vacuum your entire home including every nook and cranny. Fleas love warm and humid areas and are so small that they hide in corners and cracks. A thorough vacuuming should help eliminate any hiding fleas.

Step 3: Vacuum your couches and furniture. Fleas can be anywhere. Use the special vacuum attachments to vacuum all of your furniture.

Step 4: Wash all of your sheets and pillow cases. If your animals sleep in your bed or even get in your bed occasionally then your bed could be infested. Wash your pet’s bed or sleeping area. Wash everything!

Step 5: Give your pets a bath and use special flea shampoo to kill any fleas. Brush out all the dead fleas with a special brush which you can get from your local pet store. Pick up some flea drops and a flea collar. The best way to get rid of fleas is to prevent them.

Tips: To prevent fleas you should bathe your pets regularly and use a flea shampoo.

Warnings: Fleas can get on humans also, so you should bathe regularly, using soap and shampoo.
