How to Feel Good

Intro: Are you feeling crappy or having the blues? Do you want to feel good? Do you want to feel great? Well follow these simple steps to a better life and a better attitude.

Step 1: Make a feel-good file. A feel-good file contains pictures, medals, and anything that reminds you of your accomplishments. To make this file you should make a list of everything that you are proud or happy about. From this list you should form a file or box and fill it with items which will strike up memories of your happiest moments. Whenever you are feeling down, you should open up your feel-good file and spend a few minutes going through everything. You will feel good in a matter of minutes.

Step 2: Make a list of all of your favorite activities. Think about everything you love to do. Whether it’s playing baseball to spending time with you pets, write it all down. When you start to feel bad you can lift your spirits by partaking in one of the events you enjoy most in life. I am sure you won’t be able to do some things on your list because of expenses or no time off of work but I am sure you can find some smaller things you like to do.

Step 3: Accept the negative things that have happened to you and move on. You may have to open up about a problem to another person and let it off your chest but once you do you will instantly start feeling better.

Step 4: Exercise. Exercising can boost natural chemicals in your body to make you feel better. Not only will you naturally feel better but you will be happy that you are working out and not only starting to look better but have more energy.

Step 5: Do something nice for someone else. Start volunteering down at the animal shelter or soup kitchen. You will start realizing how great of a person you are. You are amazing!

Step 6: Rent a funny movie with one of your favorite actors. Movies can help you forget about all of your troubles and worries for an hour or two. There are many feel good movies which can change your attitude very quickly.

Step 7: Listen to or read some motivational leadership books. These speakers and writers have an amazing ability to motivate their audience. A little motivation can help you get your life back on track and start feeling better!

Tips: Smile more often. Even by forcing yourself to smile, your mind will naturally start to be happier.

Do something which you know you are good at. If you are great at a video game, then log on and kick some butt. Using one of your strengths will make you feel good any day.

Warnings: Don’t use any mind altering substances to feel happier. Drugs and alcohol will only provide you with very short term happiness. They will ultimately bring you farther down than up.
