How to Zip a File

Intro: Follow these easy steps and learn how to zip a file.

Step 1: Select the folder or folders you want to zip. If you want to zip more than one folder you should click the first folder and then hold down the CTRL key while clicking every other folder.

Step 2: Click the right button on your mouse. A menu will pop up and you should select “Send to” from that menu.

Step 3: When you click on “Send to” you will see another menu pop up with more options. Choose the option that says “Compressed (zipped) Folder.”

Step 4: A new icon will appear; this icon is your new Zipped Folder.

Step 5: To upload this zipped folder, use the “browse” function on the application and select your zipped folder for upload.

Tips: Download zipping software, if needed.

Warnings: If you can’t turn your folder into a Zipped folder then you may not have any zip software installed on your computer.
