Intro: Have a lot of interesting ideas to share with the world? Want to express your creativity and write a fictional novel? Follow these simple steps to writing your own book.  Step 1: Set a goal. How soon would you like this book to be complete; 3 months, 6 months, 2 years, or longer? If you want to write a book that is 200 pages you could write an easy 2 pages a day for 100 days. If you want to finish that book in one month then you need to average about 7 pages a day.  Step 2: Put together a table of contents. If you plan adequately enough, you can have every section’s title written before you ever start writing the book. This extra planning at the beginning will save you a lot of stress and frustration down the road.  Step 3: Write a few chapters of your book. Send your table of contents and few chapters over to a publishing company to get some feedback. A great book publishing company who loves the entrepreneurial spirit of first time writers is Morgan James Publishing. Check them out at http://morgan-james-publishing.com/default.aspx. If you are writing a fictional novel then MJP may not be the best publishing company. Try searching for a novel publishing company and email them your sample.  Step 4: Use the feedback from the book publishing companies to figure out your next step. They may love your idea and want to see more or it may not be for them. If they are not into it then you can try and submit it to another place. Don’t give up; keep sending it to new companies. If you aren’t getting any positive responses then it is time to rethink your book.  Step 5: Make sure your grammar is impeccable and your writing has a nice flow to it. If you haven’t had any formal writing training then it may be time to seek out a few classes. Make the investment in yourself to become a better writer and take a few lessons.  Tips: Don’t get discouraged. It may not be the right time for a book like yours; try again in a few months.  If you know your writing is good then stick with it! You’ll catch a break soon enough.  Warnings: You may get a lot of rejection which can cause a loss of confidence and a deflated self-esteem.
