Intro: No one is happy all the time, but it is obvious that some people are generally happier than others. If you are a not so happy person now is the time to change your life around.

 

Step 1: Smile more often! Be aware of how much you are smiling in any given day and try to double that amount. Studies show even by forcing yourself to smile, your mood will become better and you’ll be happier.

 

Step 2: Just relax. People tend to get stressed out very easily and it is usually over small issues. If you take things too seriously and analyze everything, you won’t have a very relaxing life and happy life. There is no point worrying about something that is out of your control.

 

Step 3: Don’t worry about the past; you can’t change it but you can change the future. If you are unhappy about your current situation in life than it is time to do something about it. Start planning a happier future. Just thinking about a happier future should brighten your mood.

 

Step 4: Be grateful for all the joys you have. Things could always be worse. Appreciate the people in your life and be thankful that they’re there.

 

Step 5: Always look for positive, upbeat, and happy friends. Developing a meaningful and healthy relationship with another person can dramatically increase happiness. Try to avoid people who complain, criticize, and condemn. These people are not only a drag on you but a drag on society. It may be hard to find positive upbeat people but when you do, try to stick with them. Their upbeat spirit should help bring yours right up with theirs.

 

Step 6: Try doing something nice for someone else. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or an animal shelter. Helping out the less fortunate is a great way to make you happier. Everyone gets a good feeling when they spend their time helping others.

 

Step 7: Every few months read some motivational leadership books or listen to them on CD. These motivational speakers are great at raising their audience’s spirits and attitudes. These speakers are often so very refreshing that it can provide you with an energy boost for week’s even months.

 

Tips: Happy people don’t worry about what other people think; they just are themselves.

 

Warnings: Do not use any alcohol or drug substances to help make you happier. These may have a positive short term effect but are very bad long term.

These are very inspirational tips on how to be happy. A smile goes a long way and a merry heart is like medicine. I like tips 6 and 7, especially, but all are very good tips. Thanks for sharing. 5*****
